This La Jolla home is a good example of what happens when the right product meets the right application. We used Sherwin-Williams Emerald Interior on the walls throughout - and if you know paint, you know that product does not forgive sloppy work. It self-levels well, but the prep and technique still have to be there.
Every room got the same level of attention. Walls painted smooth and even, matte white ceilings that don't compete with the space, and doors painted to match the overall palette - including one room with a soft blush pink door and matching walls that honestly came out really well. The color is cohesive right down to the baseboards.
The hallways and stairwell areas are where a lot of painters cut corners. Tight spaces, angled ceilings, awkward transitions between wall color and ceiling white. We took our time on those cuts. The line where the sage green meets the matte ceiling on the stairwell is sharp and clean - no bleeding, no touch-up marks.
What we used matters too. Sherwin-Williams Emerald is one of the better interior paints on the market right now. It covers well, holds up to cleaning, and gives that smooth, almost velvety finish that cheaper paints can't replicate. For a home at this level, it was the right call. The living areas, bedrooms, hallways - every surface got that same quality treatment from top to bottom.
